In the spirit of ‘putting something back’ into education, I regularly talk to groups of students about the future in an attempt to motivate and channel learning and attitude. One of my ‘best’ developments was to create an interview training programme that has incredible results. The ability to interview well is a great career asset.

I spent ten years in education, most of that time as managing director of Edexcel and BTEC, but I also served on the regulator’s standards group, parliamentary initiatives and schools governor.  I led massive change and created the most accurate human assessment process in the world for A-levels and GCSEs. (Shame the DfE didn’t care).

Before that I spent a long time in industry as a director in different disciplines. One of my most rewarding roles was as Business Change Director where, for a number of years, I led transformation in performance across the board. More recently I advise and chair exciting new start-up businesses in high technology.

I can be persuaded to contribute to almost any education issue and my contributions are completely free.
